ANTONY SPENCER
Antony Spencer is a photographer based in Dorset. He takes landscape photographs in the best places he can find. He takes pictures wherever and whenever possible and tries to find places with perfect natural lighting. He has always loved photography. He began taking pictures seriously in 2007. He lives near place named Dorset Coast and so he loves to take advantage of living where he is because he lives near a beautiful place and can then takes photographs with ease. He was the U.K landscape photographer of the year in 2010. Before this he became the ‘Take a View Landscape photographer of the year competition winner.
EXAMPLES OF ANTONY SPENCER'S WORK
Antony Spencer has wonderful work and expresses the natural feeling of his pictures without adding so much that it makes it look unrealistic where as he as brought out the realism. He brings out the truth from his picture. He goes up to a whole different dimension with his photographic skills. The picture in the center has a 'rocky seashore' with the sun up in the sky whilst it reflects it's light in a straight line down the sea. Not forgetting to mention how having the lighthouse in the picture changes the effect on the viewer, it's so little yet it makes such a big difference.
He uses the rule of thirds very clearly and uses this technique very well, for example in the last picture, in the top third there is the sky and sunset and also if you look very carefully you can see the hills in the distance. In the second and third section the water is surrounded by ice. The depth of field setting on his camera has been adjusted to a setting so that we can see everything, these images have a large depth of field

RUSS BARNES
Russ Barnes had loved art since a child since everyone around him including his father who was a water colour artist and his uncle who owned his own photographic business. He was interested in art whilst he was at school and he studied the subject all the way up to an A Level. He was still had an interest after this but never started thinking about photography until many years later. Finally up until his late thirties to he began his journey to start landscape photography. He loves to express his passion for true and realistic photography and soon became a world famous photographer.
EXAMPLES OF RUSS BARNES' WORK
I think that Russ Barnes' work is quite exquisite and natural. He goes to places which we would see as wonderful and then captures the moment at a whole different view as us and enhances the features that are hidden round the area. Take for example the leaves on the right hand side of the first picture or the true colours and the redness of the roses in the next photograph. If we were like Russ Barnes we could see the world a lot differently than we used to. To take it the next step he added a black and white filter in the final photo but mysteriously doesn't make it appear so dull but instead very vivid.
MY FIRST LANDSCAPE SHOOT
MY BEST AND WORST PICTURES FROM SHOOT ONE
BESTThis is my best photo because the tree has contrast compared to the rest of photo even though the whole photo looks good. I like how there is less light towards the left side of the photo and then it increases as the photo goes towards the right as the sunlight is more visible. It also casts nice shadows off of the trees and shows off the walking path.
|
WORSTI considered this as one of my worst photos because the idea I had was good but the photo was out of focus. Also I should've had the person walk in the middle and I would take the photo from the middle of the road as well which would significantly improve the photo.

MY SECOND LANDSCAPE SHOOT
MY BEST AND WORST PICTURES FROM SHOOT TWO
BESTI have chose this as my best photo because it is one of my favourite shots from the shoot. The focus is correct and the exposure is just right giving the perception of bright skies when in actual fact the sky was darker when this photo when this photo was taken. The tree gives the photo a moodier look which combines two opposites; the moody looking tree and the bright skies.
|
WORSTI have chosen this as my worst photograph because when I took the shot with the camera I was too close to the tree and had pointed upwards which made an undesirable picture. I could have done 2 things and I can remember these for next time. I could have either gone up closer and shot the photo with the camera pointing all the way up or I could have went further away so whole tree was in shot and so it was in the first vertical third. Finally the aperture can also be decreased.

MY THIRD LANDSCAPE SHOOT
MY BEST AND WORST PICTURES FROM SHOOT THREE
BESTThis is my best photo because it shows the blue in the sea in contrast to the blur of the sky. Also the sky in this photo isn't over exposed and in a lot of situations, the sky can be over exposed when shooting photos with mobile phones, (This photo was shot with a Mobile Phone Camera.) The sea has a deep blue colour and the sky has a light (sky) blue colour. The aperture in this photo is correct. The rule of thirds are also used in a horizontal manner. The sky being the first third, the hills being the second third and the last third being the sea.
|
WORSTThis is my worst photo as it is under exposed. The aperture should've been set to a higher setting allowing more light to enter the lens. Also the focus wasn't set correctly which caused the photo to be blurry and out of focus. This could have been a good photo as the positioning, angles and rule of thirds were correct.
